The Honorable Matthew T. Mangino is a member of the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole. He was appointed by Governor Ed Rendell and confirmed by the Pennsylvania Senate on June 29, 2006.
Mangino the former District Attorney of Lawrence County has emerged as a respected national legal commentator through frequent appearances on CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, CNN Headline News and Court TV. He has appeared on national television to discuss the cases of Scott Peterson, Michael Jackson and Kobe Bryant. Mangino is legal analyst for WFXY-Fox 17/62 in Youngstown, Ohio.
Manginos tenure as district attorney was marked by innovation and action. He created a drug task force, arson investigation team, bad check restitution program, special operations entry team, adopt-a-school program and a DUI fast track program. He also successfully tried every homicide case, winning two first-degree murder convictions.
Mangino is a regular featured columnist for the Pennsylvania Law Weekly and the Youngstown Vindicator. He has published numerous articles in professional journals and his Op-Eds have been published in newspapers such as The Washington Post, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Harrisburg Patriot-News.
Mangino was invited to the 1998 White House Conference on School Safety: Cause and Prevention of Youth Violence. The National Cable Television Association has nationally recognized his work with young people.
